Karen, Rockey, the cats, the dogs and the two llamas live in a new home on 13 wooded acres just south of Atlanta off I-75. We had the luxury of designing this house to suit ourselves and our animals. For instance, the house has no carpet on the floors but has a carpeted climbing wall for the cats. The insulated concrete form walls are 12 inches thick which makes for lots of deep window ledges for the cats to sit on. Much of the furniture is built in so the cats (and the dust bunnies) cannot hide under it. There are two large screened porches for all to enjoy the sunlight.
The cattery portion was built to house males and females who do not live in the house. Each walk in cage has shelves and it's own outside screened porch. We installed a separate heating and air conditioning unit to keep odors out of the house and all surfaces are washable.
Karen is a veterinarian with 50 years of practice experience. She currently provides low cost veterinary services to rescue groups and humane societies. She is also staff veterinarian and board member at Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Locust Grove, Ga. Rockey is a retired computer consultant and chief litter box engineer for the cattery. We both love to travel and together have visited every state in the union and 10 or more foreign countries.
